Position/PCN: Student Opportunities Associate

Position FTE:  .750

Pay Grade:  7

Starting Wage:  $19.73

Days Per Year:  202

Specific job responsibilities relevant for this position include:  Assisting charter school staff in the classroom, lunch, recess, special events, front office, etc. 

Class Summary:  Under supervision provides instructional support for classroom teachers.  Performs a variety of tasks to support the community involvement of students.  Initiates and organizes opportunities for students through community partnerships.  Performs a variety of support and instructional functions to facilitate parent/family involvement for the success of each student. Individual may be assigned to specific areas, but may perform any of the tasks listed.

Training and Experience (position requirements at entry):  Previous education, training, work or life experience that provides reasonable evidence of the successful performance of the various tasks listed.  Such experience may be evidenced by one (1) to three (3) years of experience with at-risk youth.
 
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry):  A valid Alaska Driver's License. 
 
Physical Requirements:  Light Work:  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
